Are You Ready For Some Football???

Wanted to get the early reminder out that I will doing football picks again. For those of you that got the email I sent out earlier this evening, you may stop reading now. For those of you who didn’t please continue reading. So last year I got the bright idea to do football picks here on the corner, this is something Lajitas and I would do every Sunday while growing up. We would get the news paper out, and circle the helmet of the team that we thought would win. Anyway so here is how the picks work..

Each week I will post the games for the week (Usually up by Wednesday) and I make my picks. Readers come in and post a comment with their picks. Pretty simple, but alot of fun. Phil is currently working a spreadsheet that will be updated each Tuesday with the previous weeks results. This will allow everyone to see how they did that week, how they are doing for the season, and should provide for alot of trash talking!!

Something new this year.. 15 college games will be selected for picks on Saturday. They will be posted by Wednesday as well. Last but not least, Liverdamage is currently setting up the *Ick’s Corner* Fantasy football league (through Yahoo). So if your interested shoot me an email and we will get you the information you need to sign up. We are setting it up to hold 12 teams.

So again I ask, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!

With yet another busy week around the corner, I completely forgot the Corner turned one this week. August 11, 2007 marks the date the first post was written on the corner, now over 1,000 posts, and over 3,000 comments later, the Corner is just getting started! I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone currently, or who has been a part of the Corner over the last year including Phil, Liverdamage, Hockey Guru, silent E, Bushwack, and last but certainly not least Ol’ Broad.

I would also like to give an even bigger thanks to you guys and girls out there who read the Corner!! Thank you for the continued support!

Looking back over the first year, here are some great memories..

Happy to report we are making progress… The page is starting to come back together. I have made a few changes to clean up my sidebar, so its not as cluttered as my other page. You will notice instead of having blog links on my sidebar, there are now pictures. If you click on a picture, it will take you to my blog roll page. If you were listed on my page prior to the Internet eating my page and your not included on my blogroll page, please leave a comment and your link and I will add you back onto my page.

You will also notice some ummmm questionable helmets on my sidebar. As a token of my appreciation to Bushwack, and Silent E for all their help in getting my site not only moved to a new server, but getting it back up and running.. I have decided to fly their favorite teams helmet on my sidebar. Under my beloved Cowboys helmet of course. You know that whole top of the food chain thing ;)

Hopefully by the end of the weekend all the dust will have settled, and the new and improved corner will be completely done.
