The Conversation as I expect it’s going now that the drama queen is now a Viking…

Yes I know I said I was retired, and I didn’t feel I could compete at the level it takes to play in the NFL. My plan is working perfectly, I wanted to play for the Vikings when I was throwing my temper tantrum in Greenbay. Isn’t it funny how Brad Childress is expecting lil ole me to save his job? Look how that worked out for Eric Mangini! Can you believe the Jets organization and the fans ate up that crap I was peddling about being there to do whatever it takes to win the Jets a championship? Little did they know I was there just as a hired guns. Yes I know I told the Vikings organization, and the fans the same thing at the press conference a few days ago. I was *Broadway Brett* in New York, I haven’t been given a swell nickname by the Vikings yet. I am being called a few names in the press and by the fans, but who cares. I sure don’t care what anyone thinks about me! I’m laughing all the way to the bank, oh and I’m still a starting qb in the NFL. The guys on the team don’t seem to upset that my plan to miss all 2 a days and other mandatory team activities worked perfectly. They should just be glad I’m here, I mean I am Brett Favre!

I can’t believe Packer fans are so upset. I mean they still get to see me in all my greatness every week. God I give those Cheeseheads a Championship and now they don’t seem to care about me. Sure they wanted me to retire a Packer legend, and never wear another teams uniform. Sure I spent 16 seasons with them, and we had a lot of fun, but I wanted to play. They didn’t seem to like the fact that I tried to hold the team hostage each season. Threatening them with the possibility of retirement. Who the hell does Ted Thompson think he is? You don’t tell Brett Favre what your going to do, Brett Favre tells you what he is going to do! No I don’t feel bad for my comments the other day about *If your a true Packer fan, then you will understand me playing for the Vikings”. Why would I? That would mean I actually care about someone other then myself. I want to be the center of attention, and dammit I am going to be the center of attention. ESPN has me on every other segment, and they have to document every time I pick my nose, or go to the bathroom. They obviously recognize my greatness! Well I have to go now. Even though I can run the Vikings offense in my sleep because I’m Brett Favre, I have to pretend to play *Captain Save A Coach” and study this play book. These coaches are so funny, they think I’m actually going to follow a playbook. I’m Brett Favre! Mr Interception, and most importantly Mr Do whatever I want! Now I really have to go, I need to get my beauty sleep.

What do you get when you assemble some of the best talent in the league, a head coach who is trying desperately to hold on to his job, and you sprinkle in below average play at the quarterback position? No Liverdamage you don’t get the Dallas Cowboys, at least not for this post. You get the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings find themselves trying to return their franchise to the glory days when they had dynamic duo’s that gave defenses fits.

Dynamic Duo #1 Randell Cunningham and Cris Carter

Dynamic Duo #2 Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss

Since trading Daunte Culpepper to the Dolphins the Vikings have failed miserably to find consistent play at the quarterback position. Let me rephrase that, they have failed miserably to find GOOD consistent play at the quarterback position. Tavaris Jackson, Brooks Bollinger, and Gus Frerotte have all shared time under center, and all have look horrible doing it. Tavaris Jackson had a decent rookie season leading the Vikings to a 10-6 record, but has looked horrible ever since. Needless to say the Vikings were wrong when they thought they found their franchise quarterback after spending a first round draft pick on Jackson in 2005. Now that we all know where the Vikings have been, lets look at where they are going.

The Vikings actually find themselves in a good position to become a powerhouse in the NFC North. Sorry Packer fans, Bears fans, and red headed stepchildren of the NFL fans (Detroit Lions). Your teams just haven’t done enough. Sure the Bears now have a decent quarterback in Jay Cutler, something you guys are not used to having. Yes you have Devin Hester, Matt Forte, and a solid defense. The Bears are still a long way from doing the Superbowl Shuffle. I know the Packer nation has finally passed the torch to Aaron Rodgers, and yes you guys had a good draft this year. Do I really need to say anything about the Lions? While I’m sure it was hard for the Lions not to spend a first round draft pick on a wide receiver again this year, drafting Matthew Stafford is not the answer. Its a start, but not the answer. The Lions still have alot of work to do. The Vikings on the other hand have spent the last few years quietly putting together a sleeping giant. With the addition of Jared Allen, Percy Harvin, Adrian Peterson, Bernard Berrian, and a few other missing pieces the Vikings are quietly becoming a possible division powerhouse. When will the giant be awoken, when the Vikings can get a serviceable quarterback. Enter Micheal Vick.

Lets go ahead and put it out there, Vick’s career passer rating (53.3) stinks, but the pure athleticism he brings to the position can make up for it, in the right system. When you have Adrian Peterson in your backfield it is very easy to become a balanced offense. A balanced offense would take some of the pressure of Vick to have to make plays with his arm. The addition of Vick and Percy Harvin (Florida Gator) opens up your offensive playbook tremendously. Trick plays, wildcat formations, and double reverses for starters. Lets be honest, Vick is better then what the Vikings have been running out there at quarterback for the last few seasons. I know Vick will be a PR nightmare for any team that signs him. I’m sure that whatever team signs him will also lose some fans. Hey once the winning starts, the fans that jumped off your bandwagon, will jump right back on. Winning also generates cash. Isn’t that what sports have become? All about the money and winning championships?

Vick is a high risk, high reward player. If your the Vikings and you can get Vick for a low risk contract, why not take the chance? Viking fans be honest with yourselves for a second, who is your quarterback? How confident do you feel going into this season? Tavaris Jackson is hurt again, John David Booty is a joke, and your only decent quarterback on your roster is Sage Rosenfels. Not to say there is anything wrong with Rosenfels, but he is a career back up. Cast aside your opinions about Micheal Vick and the horrible dog fighting ring he financed. Think about it from purely a football stand point. You can’t deny the fact that Vick is better then what you have on your roster right now. You also can’t deny the fact that at one time or another since Vick entered the league you didn’t catch yourself saying *Man I wish we had Vick*. He is an electric player to watch, and he gives defensive coordinators fits trying to scheme for him.

These are merely my opinions. While I’m sure some of you out there will think I have lost my mind, others of you out there will read this and agree.

You know its the NFL off season when you can’t turn on ESPN without the latest Brett Favre drama. For the last 4 years its been *Will Favre return to the Packers*, then last season it was trade me or I’m going to sit in the corner and pout until I get my way. Now this season its being reported that Favre is looking at coming out of RETIREMENT (again), and signing with the Vikings. There’s a F**King surprise. Favre yet again tells a team he is going to retire, then finds Football Jesus, suddenly has seen the light, and wants to play again. Who didn’t see this coming? I mean seriously, Favre made it known he wanted to go play for the Vikings last season.

Packer fans is this an even bigger kick in the crotch then last years tear eyed press conference? It was hard enough to watch him play for the Jets, but now there is a chance you could see him twice a year in a Vikings uniform? I do have a few bright spots for you Packer fans though!

1. You know Favre is good for atleast 3 interceptions a game late in the season. So when you guys play the Vikings late in the season, your secondary is going to have a feeding frenzy on their hands.

2. Don’t think bad of yourselves when you start to wish for season ending injuries as the result of a Favre sack! After all Favre has put you guys through, it is completely acceptable to wish for such things.

I really hope that Favre decides to stay retired. Course I wished for the same thing last season, only to be beaten over the head by ESPN for an entire season. From the pissing contest between the Packers and Favre, to the Jets training camp, to all the Rodgers/Favre comparisons. Please go back to the tractor, while wearing your Wranglers you so comfortable in, and enjoy your millions!!

This was the scene a few weeks after a heartbreaking lost to the Giants in the playoffs last year. Brett Favre decides to retire after 17 years, 16 as a starting quarterback in the NFL. Even thought Packer fans knew this day would come, the Packer-nation cried with Favre. Not only because they were losing what had become the face of their franchise, but a 13-3 team was being turned over to Aaron Rodgers. Roughly a month later Favre says *Hey guys I was just kidding, I want to play again*. Packer fans were torn by this news, some wanted to welcome him back with open arms, some wanted him to just walk away. The off season for the Packers team, and franchise was a stressful one. Decisions on what to do with Favre, should we let him come back? Should we stay with our commitment to Rodgers? How do we continue to let Favre hold our franchise hostage? And so let the drama begin….

The Packers front office decide to stand up to the diva quarterback, telling him he could report to training camp and compete for the starting job. *Bravo*! Favre requests the team out right release him, so he could explore his options *go play for division rival Minnesota Vikings, or Chicago Bears* The Packers were having none of that *Bravo again* Instead the Packers work out a trade, to send Favre not only of the division, but out of the NFC all together.

Fast forward roughly a month.

The sports world is shocked by the news that Brett Favre, the iconic face of the Packers franchise had been traded to the New York Jets. The nickname *Broadway Brett* would soon follow. Trying to find salary cap room to accommodate the roughly $12 million dollar salary that came with Favre, the Jets decide to cast Chad Pennington out with the trash. This move would later divide the locker room. Favre and the Jets start winning some games, all is good in Jets country. The Jets find themselves cruising right along. Favre was making an effort to tone down the *gunslinger* mentality, and actually take the term *ball control* seriously. The Jets hung around in the division race, and had a chance to win their division, but failed to close the deal. With their horrible play down the stretch, and the true Favre returning (2 TD Passes/9 Interceptions) the Jets find themselves sitting on their couch watching the playoffs.

Under normal circumstances when a player begins to play poorly, that player is benched. Favre was never benched during this stretch. This would divide the locker room again, and lead Thomas Jones (Jets Runningback) to call out Favre in an interview earlier this week. For the fourth season in a row, the *Will Favre Retire Watch* is on. Sources are reporting that Favre has told the Jets organization to look in a different direction at the quarterback position. Sound familiar? While I watched Favre run off the field after the loss to the Dolphins last week (led by Chad Pennington) I found myself hoping Favre was running off the field for the last time.

Brett Favre has had one hell of a career. Filled with ups and downs, emotional highs and lows. One of my fondest memories of Favre, is the Monday Night Football game he played the day after his father passed away. 22/30 for 399 yards and 4 touchdown passes. In a career that has spanned 18 years, in my opinion this was Favre’s finest game ever. Hopefully Favre will finally walk away from the game he loves so much. Now is the time for Favre to go back to the farm, and enjoy his family. He should be proud of all he has accomplished in his 18 year career.

One day after the regular season ends, 3 coaches are currently looking for new positions.

Here is your *No Shit* firing of the day. The day after the Detroit Lions make their way in the history books for being absolutely horrible (0-16) Rod Marinelli finds himself unemployed. I would like to go on record now, I would like to nominate Liverdamage for the GM position that is currently available with the Detroit Lions…

After a 10-6 season it seemed the Cleveland Browns had finally caught lightning in a bottle. With the play of Derek Anderson, Kellen Winslow, and Braylon Edwards Cleveland Browns fans finally had something to look forward to coming into this season. After a 4-12 season, Romeo Crennel is now a head coach without a team. Bill Cowher has been contacted and met with the Cleveland powers that be, and has decided he is not interested in the recently vacant head coaching job. You know I would love to see Cowher as the Cowboys head coach. If he was hired in Dallas, he would quickly fired for punching Jerry Jones right square in the mouth the first time he made his way down to the sidelines from the owners box.

Last but not least Eric Mangini (seen on the far right) is also currently a head coach without a team. The Jets parted ways with Mangini after the Jets found themselves in first place in their division a month ago. 4 out of 5 losses later, well you get the idea. The Jets had no use for Chad Pennington after trading for Brett Favre, how fitting is it that Pennington is heading to the playoffs, and Favre is heading back to the tractor? I found it extremely rude that with 17 seconds left to go in the 4th quarter, and down by 7 Favre checked himself out of the game. Then to make matters even worse, after the game Favre jogged off the field and was no where to be found to atleast shake Penningtons hand. As I watched Favre jog off the field into the tunnel, I couldn’t help but think Favre got what he deserved after his offseason temper tantrum.

Hey Brett, Packer fans thank you for the draft pick.

As we have Packer fans in the family such as silent E, and Mr Ol’ Broad I will not do the happy dance. *Atleast publicly* I will however say this, Green Bay loosing last night tells us nothing for the rest of their season, just like the Cowboy’s win tells us nothing other then the Cowboys find themselves starting the season 3-0. They share the top spot in their division, with the Giants, and have a 2-0 record against NFC teams. With the absence of Tom Brady, the recent play of The Colts, and the Chargers, the NFC is the true powerhouse in the NFL.

As I told silent E in an email earlier this week, this game was very losable for the Cowboys. Couple of different reasons, Night game at Lambeau, and a short week after a very emotional, and physical Monday Night Game. Am I happy my Cowboys won? Absolutely! Am I ready to start booking my airfare, and hotel room for the Superbowl on Expedia? Not hardly. This Cowboys team does have alot of weapons, and their defense is starting to look alot better, but its a loooooong season.

Despite the Packers loosing last night, they still have a solid football team, and a up and comer in Aaron Rodgers. Where they fall in this tough NFC, remains to be seen. Also, before the *you can’t say anything bad about the Cowboys” fans start leaving the rude comments.. save it, because I’ve already been told I can’t be a true Cowboys fan, and I should fall into a puddle of piss because I’m an HONEST fan when it comes to my teams. If you feel the need to be rude about your comments, check your fan-card, you are most likely a Philadelphia Eagles fan, and your opinion on sports doesn’t mean much anyway.

Episode four opens with the announcement that Brett Favre will not petition for reinstatement immediately. What’s the matter Brett? Haven’t you been saying you want to come back and play? Is this the I’m not getting what I want so I’m going to stand in the corner and hold my breath until I get my way? Well go ahead and pick a corner, and I hope you don’t pass out from lack of oxygen. You are either incredibly stupid, or incredibly naive if you thought the Packers were just going to release you so you could go play wherever you wanted.

Now it being reported that the Packers have filed a grievance with the league against the Minnesota Vikings (a team a quarterback away from being a contender) I might add, some including myself think the Vikings would be on Favre’s radar had he been granted is out right release. The Packers are claiming the Vikings tampered with Brett Favre. Apparently the Packers have evidence of an *Inappropriate dialogue* between Favre and one time assistant coach Darrell Bevelle who is now with the Vikings.

Please make the Favre shock monkey in my head go away. Just when I think I have finally gotten this poorly written made for TV movie out of my head.. The shock monkey zaps my brain, and I am forced to watch another episode (its almost as bad as watching Lifetime) At this point I could care less if Favre plays another down in the NFL. Here is my final plea..

Dear Mr. Drama Queen,

17 seasons in the NFL, millions of dollars made, all passing records belong to you, and you have achieved god like status in Wisconsin, RUN AWAY! Don’t walk, do not pass go, do not collect $200, JUST GO THE F**K AWAY!! Please return to the *Simple Life* set in which you call home and count your blessings you can still get up out of bed, not to mention WALK. You survived 17 seasons in the NFL. You are starting to remind me of a prisoner who has been incarcerated for many years, then you were released, now your looking for a crime to commit so you will be sent back to prison. I would also like to add that its someone else’s turn in the spot light. I know walking away is hard, but you shouldn’t be concerned with walking away, I asked you to RUN!

Signed,

A Dallas Cowboys fan that will have you thrown in my face everytime time Tony Romo throws an interception, or makes a *Brett Favre* type play. You know where your just really lucky.. If you need an example go back and watch game film from this years playoffs. Shovel pass to Donald Driver ring a bell???

Trust me when I say, you will not only be a household name in your own home, but in all Cowboy fans homes as well!
