Training at the NFL’s Cowboys stadium was delayed nearly two hours this morning, after a player reported finding an unknown white powdery substance on the ground.

Initially the NFL team thought it was a prank. Training was immediately suspended, while police and Homeland Security officials were called to investigate.

After a complete analysis, Dallas Police forensic experts determined that the white substance, unfamiliar to most of the players, was in fact, the goal line.

Practice will resume this afternoon after Police and Homeland Security decided the team was unlikely to encounter the substance again.

Jerry World has only been open a few months, but has already landed some big name acts to perform there. George Strait, Reba McEntire, The Jonas Brothers, U2 will even be making a stop at Jerry World next month. Add the Los Lonely Boys to that list, as they not only performed the National Anthem last night, but also provided the halftime show. It would have been really nice to have been able to see them perform, but instead viewers were treated to T.J. and Boomer, and the 3 minute blitz. *Sigh*

Micheal Vick finds himself flying with a new group of birds. Given a second chance with the Eagles, Vick hopes he can be a positive role model and a true team player. My question would be what about Kevin Kolb? Kid with a ton of potential being buried on the depth chart. I talked to a die hard Eagles fan last night and he is very skeptical about Vick being signed. He also finds himself excited about the formation possibilities with DeSean Jackson, Jeremey Maclin, and Micheal Vick. As a Cowboy fan I find myself terrified with Jackson, and Maclin handling kickoffs and punt returns. Lets face it the Cowboys special team is horrible.

Peta members untie, Micheal Vick has paid his debt to society (in a small way) and is once again a free man. Vick managed to walk out of prison undetected by any media early this morning. Now ESPN will have something to cover other then the Brett Favre drama. Now he can begin his journey to being reinstated into the NFL, though I’m sure Roger Goodell isn’t just going to welcome him back with open arms. Remember Vick did walk right into Goodell’s office and lie to him about having any involvement with the Bad Newz Kennel dogfighting ring. Not only was he the president, but he was also a client.

If Vick is reinstated by Goodell, the question remains *What NFL team will give him a chance*. The first team that came to my mind this morning was the Cowboys, because lets face it they have become the halfway house of the NFL. Jerry Jones loves him some hard headed thugs, at bargain basement prices. With the signing of Jon Kitna in the offseason, and the drafting of Stephen McGee (former Texas A&M spare QB) *shakes head* I doubt the Cowboys will be willing to carry 4 quarterbacks on the depth chart.

I will go on record now by saying if Micheal Vick is brought on by the Cowboys for anything including WATERBOY, I will turn in my Cowboys fan card! We the Cowboy fans can’t handle anymore stray thugs in the halfway house!

At Least 5 Injured When Roof of Dallas Cowboys’ Practice Bubble Collapses

Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis was among at least five people injured Saturday when the roof of the team’s indoor practice facility collapsed in a storm during a rookie minicamp.

Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said four team support staff members were injured and all players and coaches were accounted for. He didn’t know the extent of the injuries to the four, who he said were hospitalized.

Witnesses said lights started flickering and shaking minutes before the collapse, prompting players, coaches, staff members and reporters to vacate the building. Several people were trying to exit the facility when the roof collapsed.

“I saw it coming down and didn’t have time to react,” secondary coach Dave Campo said. “I hit the ground and was able to get back up.”

The storm was producing winds measured at 64 mph just before it struck the Cowboys facility, said National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Harris in Fort Worth. Power was out at the team’s Valley Ranch headquarters.

Pardon my foolishness, but when you are under a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning, why the hell bother to have practice, especially in a bloomin’ ‘bubble’?

From WFAA: Irving Mayor Herbert Gears said one person was critically injured after being impaled by a falling object. He said another person was struck in the head.

Now, I realize, being from Dallas, football is a big deal, but when you are talking seriously nasty weather, which the area is prone to at this time of the year, is really all that important to be in a freakin’ bubble? It’s May, for the love of pete! Exactly, which is more important…..the safety and well being of your players and staff, or a few hours of practice in really nasty weather? See video here.

Asshats!

That being said, I pray for those injured a speedy recovery!

Update: Former coach Dan Reeves, DeCamillis’ father-in-law, said the first-year Dallas coach has a couple of broken vertebrae in his lower back.

“They say he’s lucky not to be paralyzed,” said Reeves, adding that DeCamillis probably will have surgery. The coach was seen being removed on a stretcher wearing a neck brace.

An apartment complex located right across the street for Jerry World is suing the City Of Arlington. They feel the new stadium violates their constitutional rights. They fear that the traffic nightmare that is going to be generated by not only Cowboy games, but various events held at the stadium will force residents out of the apartment complex. While out at Tech Supports *Mixed* baby shower a few weeks ago, Liverdamage, the wife, and I drove down one of the side streets that runs right next to the stadium, and we were all in awe of its size. Just the jumbotron outside would make a foundation for a friggin house! I can understand the concern by this apartment complex, but you guys knew it was coming. The city of Arlington announced the location of where the new stadium would be built months before ground was broken.

Here is the lawsuit filed by the apartment complex.
