The joke of the day was released by a *source* close to Micheal Crabtree. Basically Crabtree’s cousin is just trying to keep it real.
Michael Crabtree is prepared to sit out this season and re-enter the NFL draft in 2010, David Wells, Crabtree’s cousin and adviser, said Thursday.
“We are prepared to do it,” Wells said. “Michael just wants fair-market value. They took him with the 10th pick and you have Darrius Heyward-Bey [the seventh overall pick by the Oakland Raiders] getting $38 million? This week is crucial. Michael was one of the best players in the draft and he just wants to be paid like one of the best players. This week is very crucial.”
Are you kidding me?? Now that is high quality comedy! More proof that people who can’t get into community college, go to Texas Tech. What an idiot. Lets examine just the statement above.
You can not compare Crabtree’s value to ANYONE signed by the Oakland Raiders. See Javon Walker and DeAngelo Hall as examples. Al Davis has lost his mind and obviously fills out checks in the dark. Let us not forget that Crabtree is coming off a offseason foot surgery. Crabtree also did not impress to many teams while visiting them prior to the draft in April. Many teams had questions about his character, and concerns about the people Crabtree surrounds himself with.
According to Crabtree’s agent his client has made no such statements and hopes a deal gets done soon.
