Eagles Organization Doesn’t Care For Facebook…

Not only are Eagles fans some of the worst fans to every cheer for a team, some of the fans actually work for the Eagles organization. Dan Leone, a west gate chief was more then alittle pissed off when Brian Dawkins signed with the Denver Broncos. Leone decided to update his Facebook status with the following

“Dan is [expletive] devastated about Dawkins signing with Denver … Dam Eagles R Retarted!!”

Well Dan, I would have to agree with you but that’s another conversation for another time.  Now here is the real kicker, the Eagles Organization fired Leone. by telephone. They didn’t even have the common courtesy to call Leone in and fire him face to face.  Now I understand that most employers don’t take kindly to employees talking bad about the company, but c’mon this is a bit much. Despite numerous apologies, Leone is still unemployed because as a fan he voiced his opinion.

No, companies have the right to terminate employees for damn near anything nowadays. They spend money a.k.a. investing money into you and what you do for them and then on your free time in a public forum you trash them. You as the employee shouldn’t feel that you have to keep rose colored glasses but in a public forum you should not trash your employer plain and simple. It’s one thing when with a group of friends but quite another when well over a million people can read about it. I don’t think he should have been fired but I haven’t been paying him for years just to trash me in front of millions.

    Just my 2 cents.

To pick up the conversation for another time:

The Eagles will be better off without Dawkins in the longrun. They habitually draft amazing skill position players in every round of the draft.

I understand a fan wanting a franchise great to start and end his career with their team, but the nfl salary cap rarely allows for that. It is better to sell a used car a year too early than a year to late… especially when money is an object.

“No debí subirlo allí”, admitió Leone.
