What’s that Mr. Canseco? You say some of Major League Baseballs biggest stars are using steroids? You’ll have to speak up, I can’t hear you behind this pile of money that Major League Baseball is making because of these juiced up superstars! In 2005 a bombshell was dropped called Vindicated – Big Names, Big Liars, and the Battle to Save Baseball. Basically a treasure map to all the stars using steroids in the game. Some said that when Jose Canseco wrote this book, he was a rat. He was bitter because he had been banned from baseball. Think what you want about Jose Canseco, but his books have forever rocked the Baseball world. Every player being linked to steroids by Jose Canseco, has turned out to be guilty. I wonder if Bud Selig wishes he had listened, and taken Jose Canseco alittle more seriously.

After the book was released Congress decided maybe we should look into this matter, and called for some of the biggest names in the game to come before them. Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, and Rafael Palmeiro were among a few that were called. Palmeiro, and McGuire were first ballot Hall Of Famer’s prior to the release of Vindicated. Some would argue they still should be allowed into Cooperstown, because HGH was not on the *banned substance list* in Major League Baseball at that time. These hearings would prove to most damaging to not only the fans, but the voters for the Hall Of Fame.
“Let me start by telling you this: I have never used steroids. Period. I don’t know how to say it any more clearly than that. Never. I have never intentionally used steroids. Never. Ever. Period,” he said. Ultimately, although I never intentionally put a banned substance into my body, the independent arbitrator ruled that I had to be suspended under the terms of the program.” These statements would later be blown out of the water by Canseco on 60 Minutes and while testifying before Congress.
“I’m not going to go into the past or talk about my past. I’m here to make a positive influence on this. My lawyers have advised me that I cannot answer these questions without jeopardizing my friends, my family and myself”
Who could ever forget Sammy Sosa before Congress. Telling them he could not understand the questions because his English was poor, therefore he also would not be answering questions.

Now its being reported that Alex Rodriguez tested positive for steroid use in 2003. Well no kidding, Canseco tried to tell you guys, but you wouldn’t listen. Despite what Major League Baseball thinks about Canseco, they really should probably start listening to him. He kinda knows what he is talking about when it comes to the steroid era in Major League Baseball. Ask Roger Clemens how much Canseco knows, Clemens was another name in one of Canseco’s books.
