Funny thing about that play…..it made Flutie a hero. Yea, he threw the ball as far as he could fling it, but it was Gerald Phelan who found a way to catch it. They don’t ever say the “Phelan Miracle”, and his part required a lot more concentration then Flutie had to use. Quarterbacks get all the glory.
