The checkbooks are ready, the offers are starting to fly. Must mean its free agency time in major league baseball…

As expected after his dominating performance as a member of the Brewers CC Sabathia is going to be expensive. The Yankees have already made a huge offer to help their struggling bullpen. There is a 6 year $140 million dollar deal on the table for Sabathia. This is more then Johan Santana got from the Mets last year. There are some that think Sabathia could be this years Barry Zito. Needless to say the Giants have not gotten a good return on their huge $126 million dollar investment on Barry Zito. Fear not Brewer fans, your Brewers have put a 5 year $100 million dollar offer on the table to keep Sabathia with the Brewcrew!

Talks have seemed to cool down between the Dodgers and Manny Ramirez. Earlier in the week the Dodgers put out an offer on the table for 2 years @ $25 million, with an option for a third year. The new offer from the Dodgers is worth roughly $20 million less over all. Its also being reported that before being traded to the Dodgers, the Red Sox were preparing to suspend thier disgruntal outfielder.

Bushwack’s beloved Angels find themselves rebuilding after their first round exit from the playoffs. From the Rangers, to the Braves, and finally to the Angels Mark Teixeira is now a free agent. The Angels are willing to part with Francisco Rodriguez and Jon Garland to free up money to be a player in the CC Sabathia lottery, and to try and keep Teixeira in an Angels uniform. Rumors are starting to surface that Teixeira’s home town team the Baltimore Oriels are very interested in Teixeira.

Here is the list of what ESPN claims are the top 10 free agents this year.

Ticket prices are being raised in the city of brotherly shove. Since the Phillies brought a World Series home, the powers that be thought it would be a great idea to raise ticket prices $2-$6 on the average. The Texas Rangers continue to be horrible, and Tom Hicks continues to raise ticket prices. He also continues to put a crappy product on the field. During this stressful economic time, raising ticket prices will hurt fans. Hey atleast the Phillies fans got a World Series for their price increase!

Well Jason, the reason the Angels made an exit so early had nothing to do with M.T. He did WAY more than his part to win.

I don’ know what he’s like in the club house, he could be a cancer like Edmonds was, which is just as bad as a non-performer.

I don’t think “re-building” is in the works for the Angels, maybe a few moves but nothing drastic I hope, we still have the best farm system in the league.

Never said the early exit had anything to do with Tex. He played very well during his time with your Angels.. I’m wondering why the Angels are making it seem so easy to part ways with K-Rod.

Perhaps I should have said retooling?
