Date Night Around The Corner…

October 26th, 2008 · 11 Comments

Well last night was date night around the corner for the wife and I. With Halloween being one of the wife’s favorite holidays, it was a given that we would be making our way out to Screams Halloween Theme Park at some point in October. For those of you who live in Dallas and like haunted houses, this is the place to go. One price gets you in the gate to experience 5 very well done haunted houses, and all the other attractions they have set up. For the money, its a most excellent way to spend an evening. Its also not hard to spend several hours out there as we did last night.

Now I will say I am not a big fan of haunted house, I don’t find excitement in having people jump out of the shadows with only one mission, to scare the hell outta me. I found myself hiding behind the wife, and using lots of four letter words while roaming through these haunted houses. The wife loves them, so once a year I find myself giving in, going along for the ride, and looking like a 3 year old little girl in the process. Its bad enough to get scared by some random person wandering the hallways, but its even worse to be scared by the same person several times. This happened several times last night, someone would be wandering the hallway and scare the hell outta me, then decide to turn around and follow us and get me again! *shakes head*

Despite the fact I don’t like haunted houses, I can appreciate the time and effort put in setting up and decorating them. I can also appreciate the actors for what they do. As much as I hate haunted houses, all and all good times were had on date night. Here are a few pictures, needless to say I couldn’t take pictures inside the houses. The few I tried to take of the actors walking around the grounds didn’t come out to well, you know with it being dark and all…

The wife shows off her yearly *must have* face painting..

One of the attractions they have set up to enjoy is hand waxing. Last years trip to Screams produced this

This year the wife wanted to join in the fun, so we decided to do a wax mold of us holding hands…

They told us to pretend we liked eachother as they dipped our hands in wax, and taped our arms together..

The finished product. Just for the record, that is a real rose that was dipped in wax. Pretty cool huh???

the picture of the hands taped together didn’t turn out well. it looks like a mutant 10 fingered baby foot.

(my official gay/notgay ruling… doing sweet things with the wife: not gay. posting it on a blog: gay)

Guys.. he took me to a haunted house.. it’s not like he took me to see mamma mia and sang along… i think this one falls under the “no homo” ruling..

    :smiling:

    who said anything “homo”?

gay is not “gay” in the literal. gay is an adjective or adverb describing something or some action that a man should be ashamed of.

    I stand by my ruling.
Going to a haunted house with the wife = not gay
Doing romantic stuff with the wife = not gay
Acquiring memorabilia of romantic evening = not gay
Sharing your stories of romantic memorabilia with the guys on a sports blog = gay

gay Pronunciation [gey] adjective, -er, -est, noun, adverb
–adjective 1. having or showing a merry, lively mood: gay spirits; gay music.
    2. bright or showy: gay colors; gay ornaments.
    3. given to or abounding in social or other pleasures: a gay social season.
    4. licentious; dissipated; wanton: The baron is a gay old rogue with an eye for the ladies.
    5. homosexual.
    6. of, indicating, or supporting homosexual interests or issues: a gay organization.
–noun 7. a homosexual person, esp. a male.
–adverb 8. in a gay manner.

I see no “something a man should be ashamed of”.. i see “happy or homo” …
so again.. i call “no homo”… now if ick starts writing me gushy poetry on here.. then i may be saying “hey homo”.. until then i say :finger:

Wrong dictionary; that’s the English language.

We talk manguage here, not English. If we can’t sufficiently communicate a musing then we utilize a finite collection of grunts, hand motions, pelvic thrusts, and vulgarities to assist in getting the point across…
