Ick's Corner

After an extremely long week at work and the Cowboys having the early game, this is a perfect day to get caught up with projects around the house. While out shopping a few weeks ago, the wife found some purple lights and thought small person would like them. She brought them home and we put them up around her window. I got the bright idea we needed more, so we could put them on the underside of the top bunk of her bunk beds, you know going for the whole stars look. Needless to say this idea was the greatest thing in the world to the 10 year old. Well today was the day to tackle this project, *sigh*.

This project quickly turned into we should remodel the whole room. So while the wife finishes up some laundry, and watches a movie, our daughter has me in her room hanging up posters, pictures out of magazines, honor certificates from school, and moving stuff around. So I’m moving stuff around on her walls, making room for the new Hanna Montana posters, and moving Zach Efron to another wall *hangs head in defeat*, we come to why this post is called *And So It Begins*. Small person has a poster of Dirk Nowitzki, her favorite Mav’s player on her wall. This poster came from Game One of the NBA finals Phil and I went to here a few years ago.  So when I ask her where would she like this moved to, she says *I don’t want that on my wall anymore* *once again I hang my head in defeat*. Seems my tom boy daughter is becoming a girly girl.

Before this project started, I brought a pair of computer speakers, and my Zune in with me, so we could listen to some music while we work on the transformation of her room. Needless to say my speakers are now set up on her desk, her MP3 player is charging, and I’m sure we will be treated to the sounds of Hillary Duff, Hanna Montana, and some tunes from High School Musical in the very near future. If I wasn’t having a hard enough time dealing with the fact our daughter is becoming a girly girl, I was asked to leave her room, so she could take an ever so important call from one of her little friends from school. Apparently they have to talk about girly things that Daddy’s couldn’t possibly understand.. *sigh*

When we first saw the above clip from Bad Boys 2, the wife immediately turned to me and said *That is going to be you and Pat, with EVERY boy that comes to pick up small person* My wife knows me all to well!!!

These 10 simple rules will be etched in stone and posted for EVERY boy to read when they come to pick up small person for a date. This is assuming they have filled out the application, and it has been approved by Me!
