This Day In Sports…

September 16th, 2008 · 2 Comments

This day in sports is brought to us by the NHL

2004 – NHL commissioner Gary Bettman imposed a lockout due to an impasse in contract negotiations. The players union and NHL officials did not meet again until December 9.

This marks the day Liverdamage was officially no longer an NHL fan.

This is a production of “This Day In Sports”. Please join us tomorrow to see where history will take us.

correction, i stopped being an nhl fan the day they canceled the season. contract negotiations and holdouts are a fact of life. I always said I’d be back if they didn’t cancel the full season.

1st, canceling a season is an unacceptable “screw you” to the nhl consumer. of course, 2nd not apologizing, and 3rd REWARDING the people responsible for the lockout is an unmistakable “fuck all of you mindless sheep, give us your money” to the nhl consumers.
