Well it only took one game for Shawn Merriman to pull the plug on the season, and have the much needed knee surgery to repair torn ligaments. Realizing something didn’t feel right in his knee during Sundays upset home opening loss to the Panthers, Merriman shuts his season down.
Just in case you needed more proof that Norv Turner is truly an idiot, read the following statement…
Merriman had only two tackles and no sacks in a shocking 26-24 loss to Carolina at home on Sunday. Even though Merriman appeared to be a non-factor, coach Norv Turner said he thought the linebacker looked “explosive and very physical.”
Norv allow me to say 
They don’t call Merriman *Lights Out* because he turns a light switch off well, no they call him lights out because of his hard hitting, get after the qb and anything with the ball bad self! If Merriman had only 2 tackles and 0 sacks, then that was a pretty piss poor day at the office for him. I for one am glad to see him go ahead with the season ending surgery.. Playing this game is already a big enough risk for injury, serious injury, and career ending injury each time you take the field. There is no need to take the chance.
