Eric Smith has been fined $50,000 and suspended for one game after the helemt to helmet hit on Anquan Boldin in Sundays win over the Cardinals. Its being reported that Boldin is ok, and resting at home. That is a relief, because the end results after that vicious hit could have been alot worse.

Well Jason, I watched that hit over and over again, I noticed the hit was delivered on the GOAL line, that is the area where if Boldin comes down with the ball it’s a TD…. The defensive players, ALL corners and Safety’s are instructed to dislodge the ball… the hit was legal and IMO the fine unjust.
My problem is the throw, Warner should be fined for hanging his receiver out to dry.
I’m glad Boldin will be fine, I bet he will think the fine too much.

I know what happens if someone crosses the goal line with the ball sir! so
Now I don’t think it was intentional, so I don’t think the fine should have been quite so much, I do agree that Warner hung him out to dry on that one!
