Ick’s Corner

So while getting ready for work this morning I had ESPN on in the bedroom, as I do every morning and I hear a story come on that says “Merriman to put off knee surgery until after season“.  So while I stand there and brush my teeth with this confused look on my face, I stop to watch the story. Seems even though Merriman has been told he needs to have season ending knee surgery he is going to hold off until the end of the season, and risk possible suffering a career ending injury. Shawn, buddy did the steroids mess with your brain? Yeah I’m sure that your team is delighted you are going to put your surgery on hold to play this season, but you do realize that if you go out there and blow your knee out any worse then it is already, do you honestly think the Chargers are gonna stand by and support you? No they are going to move on and cast you aside. Now I will say this, finding someone to replace Merriman is next to impossible. He is a playmaker on the field, and a offensive coordinators worst nightmare.. but having this surgery is most definitely in his best interest.  Sometimes I just have to stand back and scratch my head.
