Jerry Jones aka the devil is just showing Cowboys the money this off season. Add Ken Hamilin to the list of players to get multi-year big money contracts. Hamilin is getting 6 years @ $39 Million which includes a $9 Million dollar signing bonus. This deal right here proves to me the pickings are slim for a good safety this off season. Not to say that Hamilin didn’t turn in good numbers last year, and god knows the Cowboys need all the secondary help they can get, but thats big money. Especially since Hamilin has had some off field issues.

Ever wonder why Hamilin wears a odd shaped face guard with a visor? Its not so quarterbacks can’t read his eyes, its because if he takes a hit to the face.. his career could be over. Hamilin was involved in a bar fight while with the Seahawks where he was left with a fractured skull, and other head injuries.

I’m not saying Hamilin is bad guy, or that I have anything against him. I’m just wondering if the Cowboys should have tossed him that long a contract, with that much money attached given the fact of his injuries from a few years ago, and what could possibly happen. I mean last time I checked, Football is still a contact sport.
