Its now day whatever in the Brett Favre possible return to the NFL. I am now calling this soap opera known as Brett’s life *Should I Stay Or Should I Go??*. This latest installment finds the media trying to figure out what Thompson and the Packers should do, all the while.. NO ONE has actually heard Favre say he would like to play. At this point its only hearsay. I will say this I’m tired of hearing about it already! Either Favre will come back or he wont, but for the love of god and all that is holy please make a decision and stick with it. The next statement is merely my opinion…
I as a fan grow tired of these athletes thinking they can do whatever they want. In a teary retirement speech Brett decides to retire. Well now… because I’m Brett Favre, a god in Wisconsin I can do whatever the hell I want. I feel like playing this week, so lets just make a few phone calls and make it happen. You should have thought about this before you decided to hold your press conference, only a few weeks after your season ended. That was the worst time to make any kind of decisions that will not only impact your life, but fellow teammates and the fans which lived and died each and every Sunday, and occasional Monday, by whether you won or lost. This flipping back and forth about retiring year in and year out has got to come to a stop. I sincerely hope the Packers stand up and say NO, we appreciate all you have done for this franchise but we must look forward.
Surely if the Packers had any idea this was coming, they would not have drafted 2 quarterbacks in Aprils draft. I can only imagine what Rodgers thinks about all this. If the Packers let Favre come back, they should release/trade Rodgers and apologize for wasting the first half of his career. Stay retired Favre, please do not tarnish your legacy any further. Not to say I didn’t enjoy watching you play for 17 seasons, but I would like to hold on to those memories. I do not wish to add memories of a man that couldn’t just retire on a high, with a outstanding career. Instead of letting his ego lead a comeback that eventually ruined all he had worked so hard to build.

It’s hard to let it go bro, he still can walk, and frankly he can probably be better than 80% of the younger QB’s but he should let it go, he should take up golf and enjoy his life, he has earned it.

Well I understand that every player gets the itch around training camp. I’ll also agree he is still better then most out there, but man just let it go and move on!

We heard complaints of the Packers not giving him enough love after the season. If you ask me it was a great season but every season for the last 3 or so, he’s been holding this retirement thing over the Packs head and making everybody wait until he decided. That’s so not fair to the team and his teammates. Maybe the front office didn’t say much after this season because they were a bit tired of the drama from the previous years.
Brett, we love ya, but c’mon….. You gave us the teary goodbye and we all had to talk ourselves down from the ledge. Go home and ride your tractor or go fishing or take a job in the booth but in the meantime, shuddup about returning to the game as a player……….

i hope greenbay doesn’t release him, as he requested, and has him hold the clipboard behind rogers the whole season… think of the fun that would be!
