Well, not so much catch up as just a quick update in the world of 2 wheeled racing. It’s really tough to sit inside and watch racing on the tube when you only get about 23 days of summer a year and the past bunch of weekends have been quite pleasant and I’ve been on vacation and I’ve been sick and……….. Have I given you enough excuses????

In MotoGP land, the last to races at Donington Park and Assen saw Casey Stoner spank everybody at both venues aboard his Ducati. Val Rossi finished 2nd at Donington but made a rare mistake and fell down at Assen. Val remounted and finished 11th but also managed the 3rd fastest lap of the race with a broken shift lever and a bent handle bar. On a sort of local note, American AMA Superbike Championa and current points leader, Ben Spies, was flown in to race at Donington Park and finished a respectable 14th on his first ever attempt at the insane world of MotoGP racing. Ben is currently testing Suzuki’s MotoGP bike at the track in Indianapolis for this years USGP. This will be Ben’s last year in the AMA.

Now on to WSBK…… Since the last time we spoke, 2 weekend sessions of WSBK have taken place. On the weekend of June 14th and 15th, fan favorite Nori Haga on the Yamaha YZF R1, took the double winning both Saturday and Sundays rounds at The Nurburgring. The following weekend, the podium in Misano Italy was split between Max Neukirchner (who??) on the Suzuki GSX-R1000K8 and Ruben Xaus on the Ducati 1098R.
