After 12 years, and two Superbowl wins Rod Smith is retiring. The owner of the Denver Broncos listed him as the second greatest player to every play for the franchise, number one being John Elway. That is a major compliment, Mike Shanahan also would like Smith to return to work with the team in some capacity. Here is a nice tribute I was able to find. :)
Smith holds franchise records for career receptions (849), yards receiving (11,389), touchdown catches (68), touchdowns (71) and 100-yard games (31).

Nice video. Two things.
One: Why is Steve Largent always left off of lists of great recievers?
Two: Does this dude sound like he’s drunk dialing an old girlfriend near the end of this? “And, uh, (awkward pause) I uh, (sigh) just… I’m sorry about Linda. I’vealwaysluvedyuuu hic* oh, please pick up, Rod (sigh) just call me. I’ll be here.” (sobs* You can hear him opening up another tub of ice cream)
