Speak up, Packers, if you don’t want Favre
Did Green Bay Packers management get dropped on its head as an infant? Tumble down a long row of Lambeau Field concrete steps? Suffer a series of second-degree concussions?
If not, there needs to be a shareholders meeting of the only fan-owned team in the NFL. Somebody needs to ask general manager Ted Thompson why he’s gone underground on this Brett Favre un-retirement thing.
So far, the Packers’ PR department has issued a “The Packers have no reaction.” And Thompson, who wouldn’t interrupt his vacation to comment, has been as useful as a grand piano in a marching band. But, of course, his silence says everything.
Thompson doesn’t want Favre back. Not now. Not after Favre’s official “It’s over” announcement. Not after backup Aaron Rodgers was handed the car keys for the minicamps and OTAs (organized team activities). And not after Thompson dropped Favre from the 80-man roster and then drafted two other quarterbacks.
Now, I’m not the NFL fan I use to be. One of the reasons might stem from ten LONG years living in Wisconsin? One thing I learned about Wisconsin, you do NOT wear a Cowboy jacket and expect not to have a nasty comment made. Another thing, it’s not “the” Packers, it’s “us”. They’re a tad on the obsessive side. I’d call anyone who paints their home green and yellow, just a smidge obsessive, wouldn’t you?
Ok, now that being said, I honestly don’t think it would be such a great idea for Farve to return. Good heavens, Packer fans have already gone through the grieving process, time to leave it be!
*EDIT*
This is an addition to Ol Broads find. Seems Farve is sending text messages to Packers GM Thompson. Two words. STAY RETIRED! As silent E brought up you are only hurting the legacy you worked so hard to build

With training camp right around the corner, I can understand Favre getting the itch to play again. IF the Packers brought Favre back they should just go ahead and trade/release Rodgers. The Pack are never going to know what they have on the bench as long as Favre has this much power over the franchise.
As much as it would upset the cheeseheads up there, they need to say no Brett you have retired and we have to move forward.
*looks around* Please don’t kill me E ;)

No grief from me Ick…. The guy had his teary eyed retirement announcement…. SO RETIRE ALREADY!!!!!!!!
I don’t think he knows the damage he’s doing to his own legacy by continually waffling over whether or not to retire. He retired.
Now go sit on your tractor or go hunting, shut up, and just let it be……….

E, it’s too freakin’ hot to either be on a tractor or to hunt! Heh. Y’know, if he really wants to “stay in the game”, why the heck doesn’t he coach? He doesn’t need the money, so he could work with his local high schools, or whatever. Now, THAT would impress me.

I don’t see Brett as the coaching type.. He wouldn’t even help Rodgers out when he was first drafted. He says it wasn’t his job to train is replacement. LOL!!! As I said, if he has this much pull over an entire franchise then let Rodgers go. Rodgers does not need the added pressure of Favres possible return looming over him.

Pfft! The last thing GB needs is Favre back in the mix. No, like I said, he should coach local….MISSISSIPPI. :)
