I’m sure I’m about to piss some people off, but when are we going to stop making a big deal about Brett Favre retiring? I’m not sure all the Packer fans have come down off the ledge yet! Hopefully they will be down by the start of football season. Now it seems that in the continued saga that is now Brett Favre’s retirement, the Packers are going to give him his locker?? This is getting ridiculous! Sure it sucks that your field general has decided to call it quits, while he still has his health.. but Cowboys fans did not make this much of a fuss when Troy Aikman retired, and he brought this city 3 Championships!!! I understand that Favre had a long and productive career, holding almost all the possible quarterback records in the NFL, a legend in Wisconsin, and all around great guy, I’m just kinda tired of hearing about it.
On a sidenote I’m sure every NFL player is hoping that with Brett Favre being retired, and set to grace the cover of Madden 2009, he will break the Madden curse once and for all! ;)

I’m off the ledge and have resolved myself to reliving the 70′s and 80′s as far as Packer history goes. Oh well….. I’m also done with the retirement stuff. Just be retired and SHUDDUP ALREADY!!!!!!!
I’m thinking the locker will be used as target practice…..
One difference between Troy and Brett. Troy was surrounded by some truly great players and had more to work with. Brett was surrounded by good players and he had to work at making them play great. Oh yeah, and the whole 7 million consecutive starts without a concussion is pretty impressive as well. ;-)

I’ll give you that one E, Aikman had one hell of a supporting cast.. while Favre had an average supporting cast, which was a factor when Favre started talking about retiring a few years ago..
